JOB PURPOSE:

The position is within our Clann Nua and TSS Properties in Limerick.
Primary aim of the position is to sustain service users tenancies,
support the delivery of short and mid-term goals, assist with the
management of the tenancies and provide ongoing support to clients
with complex needs. The service works in a supportive and preventative
manner to reduce the risks of returning to homelessness while at the
same time looking for independent living opportunities for our
clients.

You will provide an effective client-centred tenancy support service
through strong partnership with our clients, local housing authority
and other social support services. You will need to be passionate
about helping others, be able to work in an innovative and creative
style, and want to improve the lives and opportunities of the people
that you support.

You will engage with a wide range of vulnerable individuals with
complex needs, supporting them to overcome barriers and challenges to
help in their personal development.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

* To develop a service model that supports and facilitates clients
to maintain tenancies within the project.
* Assist clients to access specialist help if needed and obtaining
and completing relevant forms.
* Liaise with statutory and voluntary organisations, respecting
confidentiality and working within data protection guidelines.
* Ensuring that all utility services are in place and that clients
are paying their rent and utility bills.
* Manage possible conflict situations.
* Support clients to develop life and independent living skills.
* Provide emotional and practical support to clients in crisis –
referring them to appropriate services.
* Develop care plans.
* Accompany and advocate for clients when dealing with relevant
stakeholders.
* Work in line with best practice set out in the National Standards
Framework for People in Homeless Services.
* Attend and participate in training as required.
* Attend relevant meetings.
* Participate proactively in personal development and supervision
process.
* Ensure health and safety of self, colleagues and clients.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all
stakeholders.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

* Social Care / Community Development Degree or equivalent
qualification pertaining to the role specifically.
* A minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar role.
* Working knowledge of trauma informed care.
* Full clean driving licence, with access to own car.
